This is the speech by Cuba’s foreign minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York City on October 28, 2026. Rodríguez addressed the international body during the debate on a resolution presented by Cuba titled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” The UN General Assembly approved the resolution with 130 votes in favor, 17 against, and 25 abstentions. While Cuba prevailed, Washington made substantial inroads toward minimizing Cuba’s moral victory through bullying and blackmail.
