An Appeal to Our Readers

Dear Friends,

World-Outlook needs help with translations from English into Spanish. If you have such experience and/or skills, or if you know anyone else who does, please let us know.

You may have noticed that over the last three months we have increased our pace of publication, posting on average once every two days and sometimes every day. We have done so to respond to two major developments in the world.

First is Israel’s onslaught against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the parallel effort by its ultra-rightist government toward annexing the West Bank. We have also covered the resistance these unprecedented blows to Palestinian aspirations for self-determination have generated among Palestinians in the occupied territories and Israel proper, the broader Israeli public, and millions around the world.

Second is the unmistakable and accelerating march of the Trump administration toward dictatorial rule — unprecedented for the United States — and the beginnings of resistance to ICE raids and deportations and to the ominous deployments of military forces by the federal government domestically aimed at eventually quelling any civil unrest.

Our response to these pivotal events has included publishing news analyses, editorials, and historical documents. We have also been selecting and re-publishing valuable articles from a variety of sources, including the Israeli daily Haaretz and the British daily The Guardian, which are accompanied by introductions that put each of them in context and offer additional background information.

The increased pace of publication has made it harder for us to keep up with translating everything into Spanish in a timely way. Duane Stilwell, the editorial director of Panorama-Mundial, World-Outlook’s sister publication in Spanish, is doing a superb job. But we need more volunteers to maintain a bilingual publication that is as timely in Spanish as it is in English.

Any help you can provide in meeting these goals — whether you can tackle an article once a month or translate on a more regular basis — your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
